The residents of no 24, often felt a strange sense of unease when entering the back bedroom, for many years often known to say “I’m deeply uncomfortable in there, but don’t know why!” The temperature just drops away, particularly that far right corner to the side of the window! There is a strange loss of energy there!
Over the years, little did any of the buyers of number 24 know that this is one of the many spots that in life hapless Pete the now perpetually pointing poltergeist, cowboyed in during a life of shoddy building work! Now every night in purgatory required to make a amends for the misery caused, forever doomed to roam from site to site in perpetuity, in the middle of the night the occupants regularly hearing those heavy foot falls and ghostly spurs jangling, walking back and forth to the eternal mortar bucket.
But on a serious note, this is what you get when you don’t cross bond your corners and don’t point up properly! The following text refers to the thermographic images above taken last week with our FLIR One Pro.
Ref. The Left image the temperature gradient can clearly be seen red hot blue cold (Obviously!), with cold air (Blue) leaking in from the cavity over the full height of the corner return.
Ref. The Right image, with spot temperatures, the temperature in the corner recorded at only 11.7C in a house warmed to 19C generally this shown nearby on the floor!
Our Hygrometer also showing the surface temperature less than the dew point, the condensation regularly forming leaving strange patterns, this we advised the client not the tormented entrapped face of Pete but black spot mold!
